How to Use

Dosage

Take one capsule once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with about 1.5 dl of water after your first meal of the day. Do not chew the capsule. You can open the capsule and swallow the contents without chewing.

Important

Do not take more than one capsule per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness
  • Problems with ejaculation, like semen going into the bladder or no semen coming out.
  • Headache
  • Palpitations (fast or strong heartbeat)
  • Dizziness when sitting up or standing up.
  • Runny or blocked nose.
  • Stomach problems like constipation, diarrhea, feeling sick, or throwing up.
  • Allergic skin reactions like rash, itching, or hives.
  • Feeling weak.
RARE
  • Fainting.
  • Severe allergic reaction with sudden swelling of face, tongue, or throat, leading to trouble breathing, itching, or rash.
  • Painful, long-lasting erection that is not related to sexual activity.
  • Severe skin rash with blisters and peeling skin, especially around the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Severe skin rash with red, itchy, flaky, or fluid-filled spots (erythema multiforme).
  • Blurred vision.
  • Worsening vision.
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Skin inflammation with peeling skin (exfoliative dermatitis).
  • Irregular heartbeat (e.g., atrial fibrillation, arrhythmia, fast heartbeat).
  • Shortness of breath.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to tamsulosin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you get dizzy when you sit or stand up due to low blood pressure. If you feel dizzy or weak, sit or lie down until you feel better.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that might affect how Expros works (e.g., ketoconazole).
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney problems.

  • If you are going to have eye surgery (for cataracts or glaucoma), tell your eye doctor that you are using or have used Expros.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 18 years old.
  • This medicine is not for women.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Significant adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension and dizziness. Increases risk of falls. Consider potential interactions especially with antihypertensives. (updated 25.11.2024)
