How to Use

Dosage

Attach one Evorel 50 microgram/24 hour patch to your skin and change it twice a week for two weeks. Then, attach one Evorel Conti patch and change it twice a week for two weeks.

Method

Attach the patch to clean, dry skin below your waist. Do not remove the patch when bathing or showering. If a patch falls off, replace it with a new one immediately, but keep your original change day.

Important

Only use one patch at a time. Using more than one patch at a time means you have used too much medicine.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Breast pain and tenderness
  • Menstrual pain and disorders
  • Reactions at the patch site (e.g., redness, itching)
  • Depression, nervousness, mood changes, anxiety
  • Dizziness, sleeplessness
  • Heart palpitations, hot flashes
  • Nausea, bloating, diarrhea, upper stomach discomfort, stomach pain
  • Acne, rash, itching, dry skin
  • Back pain, pain in arms and legs, joint pain
  • Breast enlargement
  • Heavy periods, irregular or continuous bleeding between periods, uterine cramps
  • Vaginal infection, growth of the uterine lining
  • General pain, weakness, swelling, weight gain
RARE
  • Breast cancer, benign breast lump
  • Migraine, vertigo (spinning sensation)
  • High blood pressure, varicose veins
  • Vomiting, flatulence (gas), skin discoloration, muscle pain, high liver enzyme levels
  • Uterine fibroids, fluid-filled sac in fallopian tube, cervical polyps
  • Strong allergic reactions, changes in sex drive, tingling skin, epilepsy
  • Blood clots, gallbladder problems, gallstones, muscle weakness
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Uterine lining cancer, stroke, hair loss
  • Severe skin reaction (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Dark spots on skin (chloasma), painful red skin lumps (erythema nodosum), target-like skin rash (erythema multiforme)
  • Dry eyes, changes in tear fluid

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer or another cancer sensitive to estrogen.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding or untreated excessive growth of the womb lining.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot in your leg or lung, or a blood clotting disorder.
  • Do not use if you have recently had a heart attack, stroke, or chest pain.
  • Do not use if you have liver disease with abnormal liver tests or a rare blood disorder called porphyria.

  • Stop using and see a doctor immediately if you become pregnant.
  • Stop using and see a doctor immediately if your skin or eyes turn yellow (jaundice), or if you have swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, with difficulty breathing (signs of a severe allergic reaction).
  • Stop using and see a doctor immediately if you get a new type of severe headache (like a migraine) or if your blood pressure rises a lot.
  • Stop using and see a doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as painful swelling in your leg, sudden chest pain, or trouble breathing.
