How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose is 10 mg once a day.

Method

Take Everolimus Stada once daily at roughly the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet(s) whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fever, chills, cough, trouble breathing (signs of infection or lung inflammation), sore throat, mouth sores (signs of low white blood cells).
  • High blood sugar, feeling very thirsty, urinating more often (signs of diabetes).
  • Loss of appetite, weight loss.
  • Changes in taste.
  • Headache, dizziness, feeling lightheaded (may be due to high blood pressure).
  • Nosebleeds, bleeding (e.g., in the gut), easy bruising or bleeding (signs of low platelets).
  • Feeling weak or tired.
  • Swelling in arms, hands, feet, ankles, or other body parts, swollen eyelids.
  • Rash, itching, red skin, dry or peeling skin, acne, hand-foot syndrome (rash and pain on palms and soles).
  • Less urine than usual, signs of dehydration (thirst, dark urine, dry skin), protein in urine, abnormal kidney test results.
  • High blood fats (cholesterol, triglycerides), low potassium, phosphate, or calcium levels in blood, abnormal liver test results.
  • Upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, mouth dryness, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, stomach pain, inflammation in mouth, stomach, or intestines.
  • Trouble sleeping, irregular periods, joint pain, nail problems, hair loss.
RARE
  • Fever, rash, joint pain, tiredness, no appetite, nausea, yellow skin/eyes (jaundice), upper right stomach pain, pale stools, dark urine (signs of hepatitis B reactivation).
  • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing when lying down, swollen feet or legs (signs of heart failure).
  • Swelling, pain, redness, or warmth in one leg (signs of a blood clot in a leg vein).
  • Sudden trouble breathing, chest pain, or coughing up blood (possible signs of a blood clot in the lung).
  • Severely reduced urine, swollen legs, confusion, and back pain (signs of sudden kidney failure).
  • Severe allergic reaction signs like rash, itching, hives, trouble breathing or swallowing, dizziness, swelling of the face, around eyes, mouth, throat, or tongue.
  • Shortness of breath or fast breathing (signs of acute respiratory distress syndrome).
  • Feeling weak, easy bleeding or bruising, and frequent infections with symptoms like fever, chills, sore throat, or mouth sores (signs of low blood cells).
  • Loss of taste.
  • Coughing up blood.
  • Missed periods.
  • Urinating more often during the day.
  • Chest pain.
  • Wounds healing unusually.
  • Hot flashes.
  • Watery, itchy, or red eyes (conjunctivitis).
  • Tiredness, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin (signs of low red blood cells or anemia).
  • Skin redness or lung inflammation in areas previously treated with radiation, or worsening side effects from radiation therapy.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to everolimus, sirolimus, temsirolimus, or any other ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as your dose may need to be changed.
  • This medicine can raise your blood sugar or worsen diabetes. Tell your doctor if you feel very thirsty or urinate more often.
  • Talk to your doctor before getting any vaccinations while on this medicine.
  • This medicine can increase cholesterol and other fats in your blood.

  • If you recently had major surgery or have unhealed wounds, this medicine might make wound healing more difficult.
  • This medicine can weaken your immune system, making you more prone to infections. Tell your doctor if you have a fever or other signs of infection.
  • If you have had hepatitis B, it might become active again while you are taking this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are receiving or have received radiation therapy, as this medicine can cause or worsen radiation-related problems.
  • This medicine can affect your kidney function, so your doctor will monitor it.
  • This medicine can cause mouth sores. Do not use mouthwashes or gels without asking your doctor first.
  • Women who can get pregnant must use very reliable birth control during treatment and for 8 weeks after stopping this medicine. Talk to your doctor if you think you might be pregnant.
  • Do not breastfeed during treatment or for 2 weeks after your last dose, as this medicine may harm your baby.
  • This medicine can make you feel very tired. Be careful when driving or using machines.
  • Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment, as they can increase the amount of this medicine in your blood to harmful levels.
