How to Use

Dosage

The usual recommended dose is 10 mg once daily.

Method

Take Everolimus Sandoz once daily at about the same time, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets.

Important

The usual maximum daily dose is 10 mg. Your doctor may adjust the dose if you have liver problems or experience certain side effects.

  • Fever and chills (signs of infection)
  • Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, wheezing (signs of lung inflammation)
  • High blood sugar levels
  • Loss of appetite
  • Changes in taste
  • Headache
  • Nosebleeds
  • Cough
  • Mouth sores
  • Stomach problems including nausea or diarrhea
  • Skin rash
  • Itching
  • Feeling weak or tired
  • Tiredness, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin (signs of low red blood cells, anemia)
  • Swelling in arms, hands, feet, ankles, or other body parts (signs of fluid retention)
  • Weight loss
  • High blood lipid levels (high cholesterol)
  • Spontaneous bleeding or bruising (signs of low platelet count)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Thirst, low urine output, dark urine, dry, red skin, irritability (signs of dehydration)
  • Difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
  • Headache, dizziness (signs of high blood pressure)
  • Swelling in an arm or leg, feeling of heaviness, limited movement, discomfort (possible signs of lymphedema)
  • Fever, sore throat or mouth sores due to infection (signs of low white blood cells)
  • Fever
  • Inflammation inside the mouth, stomach, or intestines

  • Low potassium in blood
  • Low phosphate in blood
  • Low calcium in blood
  • Dry skin, flaky skin, skin damage
  • Nail changes, brittle nails
  • Slight hair loss
  • Abnormal liver function test results (elevated AST/ALT)
  • Abnormal kidney function test results (elevated creatinine)
  • Swelling of the eyelids
  • Protein in urine
RARE
  • Fever, rash, joint pain, inflammation, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, yellow skin, upper right abdominal pain, pale stools, dark urine (may be signs of reactivated hepatitis B)
  • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing when lying down, swelling in legs and feet (signs of heart failure)
  • Swelling and/or pain in one leg, usually the calf, with redness or warm skin (signs of a blood clot in a leg vein)
  • Sudden difficulty breathing, chest pain, and coughing up blood (possible signs of a blood clot in the lung, pulmonary embolism)
  • Significantly reduced urine output, leg swelling, confusion, and back pain (signs of acute kidney failure)
  • Rash, itching, hives, difficulty breathing and swallowing, dizziness (signs of a severe allergic reaction)
  • Weakness, spontaneous bleeding or bruising, and frequent infections with symptoms like fever, chills, sore throat, or mouth sores (signs of low blood cell counts, pancytopenia)
  • Loss of taste
  • Coughing up blood
  • Menstrual disorders, such as absence of menstruation
  • Urinating more often during the day
  • Chest pain
  • Abnormal wound healing
  • Hot flashes
  • Watery, itchy, and red eyes, conjunctivitis
  • Shortness of breath or rapid breathing (signs of acute respiratory distress syndrome)
  • Tiredness, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin (signs of low red blood cells, possibly due to pure red cell aplasia anemia)
  • Swelling of the face, around the eyes, mouth, inside the mouth and/or throat, and tongue, difficulty breathing and swallowing (angioedema), which can be signs of an allergic reaction.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Everolimus Sandoz if you are allergic to everolimus, sirolimus, temsirolimus, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems. Your doctor may need to change your dose.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can increase blood sugar levels. Tell your doctor if you have diabetes or notice increased thirst or urination.
  • Avoid vaccinations while taking Everolimus Sandoz unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can raise cholesterol and other fat levels in your blood. Your doctor will check your blood levels regularly.

  • Tell your doctor if you recently had surgery or have wounds that haven't healed. Everolimus Sandoz can increase the risk of wound healing problems.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can weaken your immune system and increase infection risk. Tell your doctor immediately if you have fever or other signs of infection.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had hepatitis B. Everolimus Sandoz can cause it to become active again.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had or will have radiation therapy. Everolimus Sandoz can increase side effects from radiation.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can affect kidney function. Your doctor will monitor your kidney health with blood tests.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can cause shortness of breath, cough, and fever. Tell your doctor right away if you have these symptoms.
  • Everolimus Sandoz can cause mouth sores. Your doctor may pause or change your treatment. Do not use any mouth care products without asking your doctor first.
  • Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment as they can increase the amount of medicine in your body.
  • Do not use Everolimus Sandoz if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to your doctor if you plan to become pregnant or breastfeed.
  • If you have lactose intolerance (sensitivity to milk sugar), talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
