How to Use

  • Upper respiratory infection
  • Burning or uncomfortable urination (may be a sign of urinary tract infection)
  • Anemia (low red blood cell count) causing tiredness, shortness of breath, cold hands/feet, pale skin
  • Easy bruising or bleeding that lasts longer than usual (may be a sign of low platelet count)
  • Increased or decreased appetite, weight gain
  • Anxiety, depression, trouble concentrating, hallucinations (seeing, feeling, or hearing things that are not there)
  • Changes in taste, insomnia, numbness or tingling in hands or feet, reduced skin sensitivity, drowsiness
  • Blurred vision, eye irritation and redness
  • Ringing in the ears, spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Changes in the heart's electrical activity
  • Flushing, inflammation of blood vessels
  • Cough, nosebleeds
  • Changes in bowel habits, dry mouth, irritable bowel syndrome
  • Muscle cramps or spasms, muscle pain or stiffness
  • High potassium levels in blood, changes in kidney function tests (blood/urine)
  • Confusion, restlessness
  • Low sodium levels in blood

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you are allergic to etoricoxib, any other ingredients, or other NSAID pain relievers (like aspirin).
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have had asthma, chest tightness, or severe allergic reactions (like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat) after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs.
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have a stomach ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, are planning to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have an inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled by medicine (consistently above 140/90 mmHg).
  • Do not take Etoricoxib Viatris if you have heart disease (like moderate to severe heart failure, angina), have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral artery disease, or a stroke. Etoricoxib may increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you develop a serious allergic reaction, including rash, hives, itching, or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, which may cause breathing or swallowing difficulties.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience shortness of breath, severe chest pain, severe headache with increasing confusion, or blurred vision with ankle swelling, as these can be signs of dangerously high blood pressure.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you develop yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools, tiredness, fever, nausea, weakness, drowsiness, or stomach pain, as these can be signs of severe liver problems.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience severe or persistent stomach pain, black tarry stools, bloody stools, vomiting blood, swollen stomach, loss of appetite, or nausea, as these can be signs of severe stomach, intestinal, or pancreas problems.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you develop a severe skin condition with blistering and bleeding in the lips, eyes, mouth, and nose (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome), or severe skin reactions starting with painful red areas, leading to large blisters and skin peeling (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis), possibly with fever, chills, muscle aches, and general unwellness.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you notice more infections, causing fever, severe chills, sore throat, or mouth sores, as these may be signs of a low white blood cell count.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience an abnormal or dangerously fast heart rhythm.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you have sudden loss of consciousness, numbness or weakness in arms or legs, headache, dizziness and confusion, vision problems, difficulty swallowing, slurred or unclear speech, or loss of ability to speak, as these can be signs of a stroke or mini-stroke.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you feel a heavy or squeezing pressure in your chest with chest pain and shortness of breath during exercise, as these may be signs of angina.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you have sudden chest pain that may spread to your neck or arm, with shortness of breath and cold sweat, as these may be signs of a heart attack.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience worsening heart function, causing tiredness, weakness, swelling in legs and ankles, or difficulty breathing with frothy or watery phlegm.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience reduced or no urine output, cloudy or bloody urine, painful urination, or lower back pain, as these can be signs of severe kidney problems.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. For short-term use only. Consider adverse renal effect in chronic kidney disease. Do not use in severe renal impairment. May increase swelling, worsen renal and cardiac failure and cause cardiovascular events. Risk of gastrointestinal bleeding less than with traditional NSAIDs.
