How to Use

Dosage

The typical dose is 30 mg to 120 mg once daily, as prescribed by your doctor, depending on your condition.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth once a day. You can take it with or without food; it might work faster if taken without food.

Important

Do not exceed the dose your doctor prescribes. The maximum daily dose for short-term acute pain is 120 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach pain.
  • Swelling of the legs or feet due to fluid buildup.
  • Headache, dizziness.
  • Feeling your heart beat fast or irregularly.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Wheezing or trouble breathing.
  • Heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, gas, nausea, vomiting, stomach inflammation, mouth sores.
  • Changes in blood tests that check your liver.
  • Easy bruising.
  • Feeling weak, tired, or having flu-like symptoms.
  • Pain and swelling in the tooth socket after tooth removal.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, making it hard to breathe or swallow (like anaphylaxis or shock).
  • Liver inflammation, liver failure, or yellowing of your skin and/or eyes (jaundice).
  • Fewer red or white blood cells, or platelets, which can make you pale, weak, or cause bleeding.
  • Feeling confused, restless, anxious, or depressed.
  • Changes in how your kidneys work, or serious kidney issues.
  • Low sodium in your blood, which can cause tiredness, confusion, muscle twitching, or seizures.
  • Serious skin reactions.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to etoricoxib or other anti-inflammatory pain medicines (like aspirin).
  • Do not use if you have an active stomach ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not give to children under 16 years old.

  • Talk to your doctor if you are dehydrated from prolonged vomiting or diarrhea.
