How to Use

Dosage

The typical dose is 30 mg, 60 mg, 90 mg, or 120 mg once a day, depending on your condition.

Method

Take Etoricoxib Sandoz tablets by mouth once a day. You can take it with or without food. Taking it without food might make it work faster.

Important

Do not exceed 120 mg in a single day. Your doctor will tell you the maximum dose for your specific condition.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach pain
  • Pain and swelling in the tooth socket after tooth removal
  • Swelling in legs or feet from fluid buildup
  • Dizziness, headache
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • High blood pressure
  • Wheezing or shortness of breath
  • Constipation, gas, heartburn, diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, inflammation of stomach lining or esophagus
  • Changes in liver blood tests
  • Easy bruising
  • Weakness, tiredness, flu-like symptoms
RARE
  • Stomach flu (gastroenteritis)
  • Upper respiratory or urinary tract infections
  • Changes in blood cells (like anemia, pale skin, weakness, increased risk of bleeding or bruising)
  • Allergic reactions (hives, severe skin reactions)
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Anxiety, depression, confusion, hallucinations, problems with taste, sleep, numbness, tingling, drowsiness
  • Blurred vision, eye irritation, ringing in ears, spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Serious heart or circulation issues (like heart attack, stroke, chest pain, very high blood pressure, inflammation of blood vessels)
  • Cough, nosebleeds
  • Bloating, changes in bowel habits, dry mouth, stomach ulcers that may bleed, irritable bowel, pancreatitis
  • Swelling of face, rash, itchy or red skin, muscle cramps, pain or stiffness
  • High potassium in blood (can cause heart problems), kidney problems (severe kidney disease), low sodium in blood (can cause tiredness, confusion, seizures, coma)
  • Severe allergic reaction (swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat with breathing/swallowing issues, shock)
  • Liver problems (liver inflammation, liver failure, yellow skin or eyes)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to etoricoxib or any other ingredient in this medicine, or to other NSAID medicines (like aspirin or COX-2 inhibitors).
  • Do not take if you have an active stomach ulcer, bleeding in your stomach or intestines, or inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents under 16 years of age.

  • Do not take if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease (like heart failure, angina, or have had a heart attack), peripheral artery disease, or a stroke. This medicine can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy or sleepy.
