How to Use

Dosage

Typically 30 mg, 60 mg, or 90 mg once daily, depending on the condition. Your doctor will prescribe the exact dose.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth once a day, with or without food.

Important

Never exceed the dose prescribed by your doctor. The maximum daily dose for short-term use can be 120 mg, but generally, for longer use, it is up to 90 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach pain
  • Swelling in legs and/or feet due to fluid buildup
  • Dizziness, headache
  • Palpitations (fast or irregular heartbeat)
  • High blood pressure
  • Wheezing or shortness of breath
  • Digestive issues like constipation, gas, heartburn, diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, mouth ulcers, inflammation of esophagus or stomach lining
  • Changes in liver function blood tests
  • Bruising
  • Tiredness, weakness, flu-like symptoms
  • Dry socket (pain and inflammation after tooth extraction)
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions (hives, severe swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing, shock)
  • Changes in blood cell counts (low red/white blood cells, platelets)
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Mood changes (anxiety, depression), hallucinations, reduced mental alertness
  • Sleep problems (insomnia, drowsiness), numbness or tingling, taste changes
  • Vision changes (blurred vision, eye irritation), ringing in ears, vertigo
  • Serious heart issues (abnormal heart rhythm, fast heart rate, heart failure, chest pain, heart attack)
  • Circulation issues (flushing, stroke or mini-stroke, severe high blood pressure, inflamed blood vessels)
  • Respiratory issues (cough, breathlessness, nosebleeds)
  • Serious digestive issues (abdominal bloating, severe stomach ulcer with bleeding, pancreatitis)
  • Skin issues (rash, itchy skin, redness, severe skin reactions)
  • Muscle problems (cramps, pain, stiffness)
  • Kidney problems (high blood potassium, changes in kidney tests, severe kidney issues)
  • Liver problems (hepatitis, liver failure, jaundice)
  • Low sodium in blood
  • Confusion, restlessness
  • Infections of the digestive tract (stomach flu), upper respiratory tract, or urinary tract

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to etoricoxib or similar medicines (NSAIDs).
  • Do not take if you have a stomach ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine is not for children or adolescents under 16 years of age.

  • Do not take if you have an inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease).
  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled by medicine.
  • Do not take if you have a diagnosed heart condition, such as heart failure, chest pain, a heart attack, or a stroke.
  • This medicine may slightly increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, especially with high doses and long-term use.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. For short-term use only. Consider adverse renal effect in chronic kidney disease. Do not use in severe renal impairment. May increase swelling, worsen renal and cardiac failure and cause cardiovascular events. Risk of gastrointestinal bleeding less than with traditional NSAIDs.
