How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe the correct dose for your symptoms. Available patch strengths range from 25 to 100 micrograms per 24 hours.

Method

Apply the patch to your lower abdomen, below the waistline. Change the patch twice a week, on the same two days each week (e.g., Monday and Thursday).

Important

Your doctor will determine the maximum daily dose based on your symptoms and treatment needs; the highest single patch strength is 100 micrograms per 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Skin reactions at the patch application site (e.g., irritation, redness, itching, rash)
  • Breast pain or tenderness
  • Mood changes (e.g., depression, nervousness, insomnia)
  • Stomach upset (e.g., nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating)
  • Pain in back, arms, or legs
  • Fluid retention (swelling in hands or feet)
  • Weight changes
  • Menstrual disorders (e.g., heavy or irregular bleeding, period pain)
RARE
  • Migraine or dizziness
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Blood clots
  • Gallstones
  • Hair loss
  • Allergic reactions (including severe ones like swelling of face/tongue/throat or difficulty breathing)
  • Liver problems (e.g., abnormal liver function tests, yellowing of skin or eyes)
  • Numbness or tingling in hands and feet

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer or other estrogen-sensitive cancer, or if suspected.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have had a blood clot in your leg, lung, or elsewhere, or have a related condition.
  • Do not use if you have had a heart attack or stroke.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.

  • Do not use if you are allergic to Estradiol or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Stop using the medicine and contact a doctor immediately if you experience sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, painful swelling and redness in your legs, yellowing of skin or eyes, swelling of face, or new migraine-like headaches.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

The classification depends on the dosage form. Systemic use (for example estrogen patch, tablet, gel): Avoid use in older adults. In systemic use, consider potential adverse effects, such as risk of cardiovascular diseases and venous thromboembolism. Consider potential interactions.
