How to Use

Dosage

For non-small cell lung cancer, the usual dose is one 150 mg Erlotinib Krka tablet daily, or for pancreatic cancer, one 100 mg tablet daily taken with gemcitabine. Your doctor will decide your dose.

Method

Take the tablet at least one hour before eating or two hours after eating.

Important

Your doctor will tell you the maximum daily dose; the most common highest dose is 150 mg.

RARE
  • Kidney inflammation (nephritis)
  • Excess protein in urine (proteinuria)
  • Eyelash changes
  • Excessive body and facial hair growth in men
  • Increased skin pigmentation
  • Eyebrow changes
  • Brittle and loose nails
  • Lung irritation (interstitial lung disease)
  • Gastrointestinal perforation
  • Red or sore palms or soles (hand-foot syndrome)
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis)
  • Corneal ulcers or perforations
  • Severe blistering or peeling rash (suggesting Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Inflammation of the iris

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to erlotinib or any other ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines, as they can affect how Erlotinib Krka works or cause side effects.
  • Tell your doctor if you take blood thinners, as Erlotinib Krka can increase your risk of bleeding.
  • If you take cholesterol-lowering medicines (statins) and have unexplained muscle pain or weakness, tell your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor if you use contact lenses or have had eye problems like dry eyes or inflammation.

  • Contact your doctor right away if you suddenly have trouble breathing, cough, or a fever.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have severe or constant diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, or vomiting, as you may need hospital care.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had liver problems, as Erlotinib can cause serious liver problems.
  • Contact your doctor if you have severe stomach pain or severe blistering or peeling skin rashes.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have sudden eye redness or pain, more tears, blurry vision, or sensitivity to light.
  • This medicine is not recommended if you have severe liver or kidney disease.
  • You should stop smoking if you are taking Erlotinib Krka, as smoking can reduce the amount of medicine in your blood.
  • Avoid getting pregnant during treatment and for at least 2 weeks after your last tablet. Do not breastfeed during treatment or for 2 weeks after your last tablet.
