How to Use

Dosage

Take 160 mg (four 40 mg tablets or two 80 mg tablets) once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not cut, crush, or chew them. You can take this medicine with or without food.

Important

The highest dose you should take in one day is 160 mg.

  • Seeing or hearing things that aren't real (hallucinations)
  • Low number of white blood cells
  • Signs of liver problems (high liver enzyme levels in blood tests)
  • Muscle pain
  • Muscle spasms
  • Muscle weakness
  • Back pain
  • Changes in the heart's electrical activity (seen on an ECG)
  • Stomach problems, including feeling sick (nausea)
  • Severe skin reactions, such as red target-shaped spots (erythema multiforme), blisters, peeling skin, or sores in the mouth, nose, genitals, or eyes, sometimes with fever or flu-like symptoms.
  • Vomiting (throwing up)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Low number of blood platelets (which can increase risk of bleeding or bruising)
  • Diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to enzalutamide or any other ingredient in it.
  • This medicine is not for women, especially if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. It can harm an unborn baby.
  • This medicine can cause seizures. If you have a seizure, get medical help right away. Your doctor might ask you to stop taking this medicine.
  • A rare but serious brain condition called PRES can happen. If you have seizures, a bad headache, feel confused, or have vision problems, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
  • There is a risk of other cancers, like bladder or colon cancer. Tell your doctor if you see blood in your stool or urine, or feel a strong urge to pee often.

  • Stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away if you get a bad skin rash, peeling skin, blisters, or sores in your mouth. These could be signs of a serious skin reaction like Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
  • Tell your doctor about any heart problems you have, including irregular heartbeat, as this medicine can increase that risk.
  • Women who are pregnant or could become pregnant should wear protective gloves if they need to handle broken or damaged tablets.
  • This medicine might affect your ability to drive or use machines, especially if you are at risk for seizures. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns.
