How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 160 mg (four soft capsules).

Method

Swallow the soft capsules whole with water once a day, at the same time each day. Do not chew, dissolve, or open them. You can take this medicine with or without food.

Do not take more than 160 mg (four soft capsules) in one day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling very tired
  • Falls, broken bones
  • Hot flashes
  • High blood pressure
  • Headache
  • Feeling anxious
  • Dry skin, itching
  • Problems with memory
  • Blockage in heart arteries (heart disease)
  • Enlarged breasts in men, nipple pain or tenderness
  • Restless legs (strong urge to move legs)
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Changed sense of taste, difficulty thinking clearly
RARE
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not real (hallucinations)
  • Low number of white blood cells, increased liver enzyme levels in blood tests (sign of liver problems)
  • Muscle pain, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, back pain
  • Changes in heart rhythm (seen on an ECG test)
  • Stomach problems, including feeling sick (nausea)
  • Skin rash, severe skin reactions with red spots or target-like patches, blisters, peeling skin, or sores in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals, or eyes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme)
  • Vomiting
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Low number of platelets (increases risk of bleeding or bruising)
  • Diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to enzalutamide or any other ingredient in it.
  • This medicine can cause seizures. If you have a seizure, get medical help right away.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor right away if you get a serious skin rash, peeling skin, blisters, or sores in your mouth. These could be signs of a serious skin reaction.
  • Taking this medicine may increase your risk of developing new types of cancer, such as bladder or colon cancer.
  • If you have sex with a woman who can get pregnant, use condoms and effective birth control during treatment and for 3 months after. If you have sex with a pregnant woman, use a condom to protect the unborn baby.
