How to Use

Dosage

Apply the foam to the affected skin areas once daily, preferably in the evening. Your doctor might also tell you to use it twice a week.

Method

Shake the bottle well. Spray the foam directly onto psoriasis patches from about 3 cm away from your skin. Gently rub the foam into your skin. Wash your hands thoroughly right after use (unless you are treating your hands).

Important

Do not use more than 15 grams of foam per day. This is about 30 seconds of spraying, or enough for about two adult palm-sized areas.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Thinning of the skin

  • Changes in hair growth
  • Red rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis)
  • Worsening of your psoriasis
  • Skin becoming sensitive to light, causing a rash

RARE
  • Allergic reactions with skin rash, swelling of the skin, face, hands, feet, mouth, or throat, which can cause trouble breathing.
  • Your psoriasis may get worse or 'flare up' after stopping treatment, or you may get pustular psoriasis (red patches with yellow pus-filled blisters).

  • Problems with your adrenal glands, with symptoms like tiredness, depression, and anxiety.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to calcipotriol, betamethasone, or any other ingredients in Enstilar.
  • Do not use if you have problems with calcium levels in your blood.
  • Do not use if you have certain types of severe psoriasis (erythrodermic or pustular psoriasis). Ask your doctor if unsure.
  • Do not use on skin with viral infections (like herpes or chickenpox), fungal infections (like athlete's foot), bacterial infections, parasite infections (like scabies), tuberculosis, perioral dermatitis (rash around the mouth), thin skin, fragile blood vessels, stretch marks, ichthyosis (dry, scaly skin), acne, rosacea (red face), or open wounds.
  • Avoid using on your face, genitals, or skin folds (like armpits or groin) as these areas are very sensitive. Also avoid around eyes and mouth. If foam gets into these areas, rinse well with water.
