This medicine helps prevent and treat blood clots in your body.
Your doctor will decide the right dose for you based on your condition. For treating existing blood clots, it's usually 1.5 mg per kg body weight once a day, or 1 mg per kg twice a day. For preventing clots, it's often 20 mg or 40 mg once a day.
This medicine is given as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous), usually by a doctor or nurse. It can also be given into a vein (intravenously) for certain heart attacks or after some surgeries, or into a tube during dialysis. Do not inject into a muscle.
Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose based on your specific condition and health.
Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. (updated 19.9.2025)
