How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your exact dose, which is usually given as an injection based on your body weight and medical condition.

Method

This medicine is usually given as an injection under the skin by a doctor or nurse. Sometimes, it can also be given into a vein or a dialysis tube. Do not inject into a muscle.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Bleeding, which can sometimes be serious.
  • Increased liver enzymes (shown in blood tests).
  • Bruising more easily than usual, possibly due to fewer blood platelets.
  • Pink spots on the skin, often at the injection site.
  • Rashes, hives, or itchy red skin.
  • Pain or bruising at the injection site.
  • Headache.
  • Changes in blood cell counts (fewer red blood cells or more blood platelets).
RARE
  • Sudden, severe headache (could be a sign of bleeding in the brain).
  • Abdominal pain or swelling (could be a sign of bleeding in the stomach area).
  • Widespread red skin lesions, possibly with blisters.
  • Yellow skin or eyes, or dark urine (signs of liver problems).
  • Severe allergic reactions, including rash, difficulty swallowing or breathing, and swelling of the lips, face, throat, or tongue.
  • Increased potassium levels in the blood (more common in people with kidney problems or diabetes).
  • Hair loss.
  • Weakening of bones (osteoporosis) with long-term use.
  • Tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness, especially in the lower body, after spinal procedures.
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control.
  • Hard lump or swelling at the injection site.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to enoxaparin, heparin, other similar medicines, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have had a severe reaction to heparin that caused a serious drop in your blood platelet count in the last 100 days, or if you have antibodies against enoxaparin in your blood.
  • Do not use if you have severe bleeding, a condition that increases your risk of bleeding (like a stomach ulcer), or have recently had a brain hemorrhage or surgery on your brain or eyes.
  • If you are being treated for blood clots and spinal or epidural anesthesia (back pain relief) or a lumbar puncture is planned within 24 hours, do not use this medicine.
  • Enoxaparin Becat should not be switched with other similar blood thinners in the LMWH group as they are not exactly the same and have different effects and instructions.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Consider potential interactions especially with other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. (updated 19.9.2025)
