EMLA is a patch that temporarily numbs the skin to reduce pain during minor medical procedures like injections or small skin operations.
For adults and children over 12, use 1 or more patches. For children aged 0-2 months, use 1 patch. For children 3-11 months, use up to 2 patches. For children 1-5 years, use up to 10 patches. For children 6-11 years, use up to 20 patches.
Clean and dry the skin, then apply the patch at least 60 minutes before the procedure. Do not cut or divide the patch. Press firmly around its edges to ensure it sticks well. Remove the patch after the recommended application time.
Do not apply for more than 5 hours (adults and children 1 year and older). For newborns (0-2 months), apply for a maximum of 1 hour and only once every 24 hours. For children over 3 months, do not use more than 2 doses within 24 hours, with at least 12 hours between doses. If you have eczema, the maximum application time is 30 minutes.
