How to Use

Dosage

For adults under 60 kg, the usual dose is 300 micrograms; for adults over 60 kg, it's 300-500 micrograms. Children weighing 15-30 kg should take 150 micrograms, and children over 30 kg should take 300 micrograms.

Method

Administer Emerade into the outer thigh at a 90-degree angle. Press firmly until you hear a click, hold for 5 seconds, then remove and gently massage the injection site. It can be given through clothing, but never into the buttocks.

Important

If symptoms don't improve or worsen within 5-15 minutes after the first injection, a second dose may be needed. Always carry two Emerade pens.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Heart problems (irregular or fast heartbeat, chest pain)
  • High blood pressure, narrowing of blood vessels
  • Sweating
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Headache, dizziness
  • Weakness, trembling
  • Anxiety, hallucinations
  • Fainting
  • Changes in blood values (increased blood sugar, decreased potassium, increased acidity)

Important Warnings

  • If you accidentally inject Emerade into your hands or feet, seek immediate medical help.
  • Do not use Emerade on children weighing less than 15 kg.
  • Always seek immediate medical attention after using Emerade, even if you feel better.
  • Call emergency services (112) and state 'anaphylaxis' even if your symptoms start to improve. You will need to be monitored in a hospital.
  • Lie down with your feet raised while waiting for an ambulance. If this causes breathing difficulties, sit up. Place unconscious patients on their side.
