How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose, starting with a small amount and slowly increasing it over time.

Method

Take the tablet with water in the morning, with or without food. Do not chew or crush the tablet; it can be divided into two equal halves if needed.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg bisoprolol.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling tired, weak, dizzy, or having headaches.
  • Cold or numb hands or feet.
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension).
  • Stomach or gut problems like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.
  • Slow heart rate (bradycardia).
  • Worsening of heart failure.
RARE
  • Sleep problems or depression.
  • Feeling dizzy when standing up.
  • Breathing difficulties (dyspnoea) in patients with asthma or chronic lung disease.
  • Muscle weakness or muscle cramps.
  • Hearing problems.
  • Allergic rhinitis (hay fever).
  • Reduced tear flow (important if you wear contact lenses).
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis), which can cause yellowing of the skin or eyes.
  • Changes in blood test results related to liver function or fat levels.
  • Allergic reactions like itching, redness, or rash, sometimes with swelling of the face, neck, tongue, or throat, or breathing difficulties.
  • Erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting or keeping an erection).
  • Nightmares or seeing/hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations).
  • Fainting.
  • Eye irritation and redness (conjunctivitis).
  • Hair loss.
  • Psoriasis (a skin condition) appearing or getting worse, or psoriasis-like rash.
  • Slow or irregular heart rate.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any other ingredients in the tablet.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe asthma, severe circulation problems in your limbs (like Raynaud's syndrome), or certain serious heart conditions like acute heart failure, a very slow heartbeat, or very low blood pressure.
  • Never stop taking Emconcor CHF without talking to your doctor first, as stopping suddenly can make your condition much worse.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking Emconcor CHF as it may harm the baby.
  • This medicine may affect your ability to drive or use machines, especially when starting treatment, changing dose, or when drinking alcohol. Be careful.
