How to Use

Dosage

Treatment starts with a low dose (1.25 mg once daily for a week) and is gradually increased by your doctor; the maintenance dose is usually 10 mg once daily.

Method

Take the tablet in the morning with water, with or without food; do not chew or crush it; scored tablets can be divided into two equal halves.

Important

The maximum recommended daily dose is 10 mg of bisoprolol.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Tiredness, feeling weak, dizziness, headache
  • Feeling cold or numb in hands or feet
  • Low blood pressure
  • Stomach or bowel problems like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation
  • Slowing of heart rate
  • Worsening of heart failure
RARE
  • Sleep problems
  • Depression
  • Dizziness when standing up
  • Breathing difficulties in patients with asthma or chronic lung disease
  • Muscle weakness, muscle cramps
  • Hearing problems
  • Allergic rhinitis (runny nose due to allergy)
  • Reduced tear production
  • Liver inflammation (jaundice), which can cause yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes
  • Abnormal blood test results for liver function or fat levels
  • Allergy-like reactions such as itching, redness, or rash
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Nightmares, hallucinations
  • Fainting
  • Eye irritation and redness (conjunctivitis)
  • Hair loss
  • Onset or worsening of scaly skin rash (psoriasis) or psoriasis-like rash
  • Slow or irregular heart rate

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any other ingredient in the tablets.
  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you have severe asthma.
  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you have severe circulation problems in your limbs, such as Raynaud's syndrome, which can make your fingers and toes tingle, turn pale, or blue.
  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you have an untreated pheochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal gland).
  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you have metabolic acidosis (a condition where your blood is too acidic).

  • Do not take Emconcor CHF if you have acute heart failure, worsening heart failure requiring intravenous medication, a very slow heart rate, low blood pressure, certain heart conditions causing very slow or irregular heartbeats, or cardiogenic shock (a severe heart condition causing very low blood pressure and circulation problems).
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as Emconcor CHF may harm the baby.
  • Breastfeeding is not recommended during Emconcor CHF treatment.
  • Never stop taking Emconcor CHF suddenly without your doctor's advice, as your condition could worsen significantly.
  • Be cautious when starting treatment, increasing the dose, or changing medication, and when consuming alcohol, as your driving and machine operating ability may be affected.
