How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right dose. The usual starting dose is 30 mg, but some may start with 20 mg. Your doctor may increase the dose if needed.

Method

Take one capsule in the morning before or after breakfast. You can swallow the capsule whole with water, or open it and mix the contents into soft food (like yogurt), water, or orange juice. Eat or drink the mixture right away.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 70 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Decreased appetite
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Feeling restless, nervous, anxious, or irritable
  • Unusual tiredness or restlessness
  • Problems with erections or changes in sex drive
  • Dizziness
  • Uncontrolled twitching, shaking, or unusual movements
  • Tics (sudden, uncontrolled body movements or repeating sounds/words)
  • Mood swings
  • High blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Feeling sick or having diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Weight loss
  • Sweating a lot
  • Stomach ache
  • Teeth grinding
  • Irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Chest pain (could be a sign of heart problems)
RARE
  • Feeling unusually excited, overactive, or reckless (mania)
  • Allergic reaction
  • Talking a lot more than usual
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, sad, or restless
  • Feeling unusually happy or excited
  • Compulsive skin picking
  • Uncontrolled body jerks or twitches
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Itching, rash, or red, itchy raised rash (hives)
  • Blurred vision
  • High body temperature (fever)
  • Vomiting
  • Metallic taste or changes in taste
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine or any other ingredient.
  • Do not take if you have used MAOI antidepressants in the last two weeks.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, very high blood pressure, or a history of stroke.
  • Tell your doctor if you have high eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever misused medicines, alcohol, or drugs.

  • This medicine can make you dizzy or blur your vision, so be careful when driving or using machines.
