How to Use

Dosage

The typical starting dose is one 50 mg tablet once daily for most adults and children aged 6-17 for ITP or severe aplastic anemia; for children aged 1-5 with ITP, and adults with Hepatitis C or of East/Southeast Asian origin, the starting dose is one 25 mg tablet once daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not take dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements within 4 hours before or 2 hours after taking this medicine.

Important

Do not take more than one dose per day; your doctor may adjust your dosage based on effectiveness.

  • Sudden shortness of breath with sharp chest pain and/or rapid breathing (possible pulmonary embolism)
  • Loss of lung function due to pulmonary artery blockage
  • Pain, swelling, and/or redness around a vein (possible deep vein thrombosis)
  • Yellowing of skin and/or abdominal pain (possible bile duct obstruction or liver damage)
  • Drug-induced liver injury
  • Rapid heartbeat, irregular heart rhythm, bluish skin, heart rhythm disturbances (e.g., QT prolongation)
  • Blood clot (general)
  • Gout (joint pain and swelling caused by uric acid)
  • Lack of interest, mood changes, or crying unexpectedly
  • Balance, speech, or nerve disorders, tremor
  • Painful or abnormal skin sensations
  • Paralysis on one side of the body
  • Migraine with aura
  • Nerve damage
  • Blood vessel widening or swelling causing headache
  • Eye problems (e.g., increased tearing, cataracts, retinal bleeding)
  • Nasal, throat, and sinus symptoms with sleep breathing difficulties
  • Blisters or ulcers in the mouth and throat
  • Digestive issues (e.g., frequent bowel movements, food poisoning, blood in stool, bloody vomit)
  • Rectal bleeding, discolored stool, abdominal bloating, or constipation
  • Mouth symptoms (e.g., dry mouth, soreness, tongue pain, bleeding gums, discomfort)
  • Sunburn
  • Feeling hot or anxious
  • Redness or swelling around a wound
  • Skin bleeding around a catheter (if present)
  • Sensation of a foreign body
  • Kidney problems (e.g., inflammation, frequent nighttime urination, kidney failure)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Eltrombopag Stada if you are allergic to eltrombopag or any other ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, as this medicine can affect your liver. Seek immediate medical attention if your skin or eyes turn yellow, or your urine becomes unusually dark.
  • This medicine can increase the risk of blood clots. Seek immediate medical help if you experience swelling, pain, warmth, redness or tenderness in one leg, sudden shortness of breath with chest pain, fast breathing, stomach pain, swollen stomach, or blood in your stools.
  • Do not stop taking Eltrombopag Stada without talking to your doctor, as your platelet count may drop significantly.
  • Do not take this medicine with dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements as they can prevent it from working properly.

  • This medicine may cause dizziness or other side effects that affect your ability to drive or use machines. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
  • Inform your doctor if you have another blood disorder, such as myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).
  • Your doctor may recommend regular eye examinations to check for cataracts.
