Eldepryl is a medicine that helps treat Parkinson's disease by controlling chemical signals in the brain.
You usually start with 5 mg once a day in the mornings.
Take the medicine exactly as your doctor instructed, either alone or with other Parkinson's medicines, usually in the morning or as two separate doses.
You can take up to 10 mg per day.
Avoid use in older adults. Serotonergic. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, hallucinations, confusion, dyskinesia, headache, dizziness and bradycardia. Do not use together with other serotonergic preparations. (updated 6.10.2025)
