How to Use

Dosage

Usually, you take one 60 mg tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. You can take it with or without food. If you have trouble swallowing, you can crush the tablet and mix it with water or applesauce just before taking it.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one 60 mg tablet.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to edoxaban or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have any active bleeding.
  • Do not take if you have a condition that greatly increases your risk of serious bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer, brain injury, or recent brain or eye surgery.
  • Do not take if you are already taking other medicines to prevent blood clots (like warfarin or heparin), unless your doctor tells you it's for a planned switch of medication.
  • Do not take if you have a liver disease that increases your risk of bleeding.

  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure that is not under control.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, severe liver disease, a bleeding disorder, problems with blood vessels in your eyes, a recent brain bleed, or a mechanical heart valve.
  • Tell your doctor if you have antiphospholipid syndrome (an immune system disorder that increases the risk of blood clots).
  • If you need surgery, it is very important to tell your doctor about taking Edoxaban Zentiva, as you may need to stop it at least 24 hours before.
