How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one 60 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may reduce the dose to one 30 mg tablet once daily if you have kidney problems, weigh 60 kg or less, or are taking certain other medications.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole, preferably with water. You can take it with or without food. If you have trouble swallowing, your doctor may suggest crushing the tablet and mixing it with water or applesauce.

Important

Do not take more than one dose per day. The usual maximum daily dose is 60 mg.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to edoxaban or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not take if you are currently bleeding.
  • Do not take if you have a condition that increases the risk of serious bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer, brain injury, or recent surgery on your brain or eyes.
  • Do not take if you are already taking other blood thinners, unless your doctor has specifically told you to switch to this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have a liver disease that increases your risk of bleeding.

  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled by medication.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you need surgery. You may need to stop taking Edoxaban Sandoz for at least 24 hours before your surgery, as directed by your doctor.
