How to Use

Dosage

Usually 10 mg once a day. For those over 65 and frail, 5 mg. The dose may also be lowered if you have liver or breathing problems.

Method

Place the tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve completely. Take the medicine just before going to bed or when you are already in bed. Do not take with food or right after eating.

Important

Do not take more than 10 mg in a day.

  • Changes in liver enzyme levels (seen in blood tests)

  • Liver damage
  • Unusual behaviors like agitation, aggression, delusions, rage, nightmares, hallucinations, psychosis, or other strange actions (more common in older people)

  • Delusions, rage attacks, psychosis (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there), inappropriate behavior
  • Delirium (sudden and severe changes in thinking and awareness, making a person confused)
  • Physical dependence (the body needs the medicine, and stopping it can cause withdrawal symptoms)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to zolpidem tartrate or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease, sleep apnea (short stops in breathing during sleep), a severe muscle weakness condition (myasthenia gravis), or sudden, severe breathing problems.
  • Do not take if you have ever sleepwalked or done other unusual things while not fully awake after taking Edluar or similar medicines (like driving, eating, making calls, or having sex).
  • If you are elderly or frail, be careful when getting out of bed at night as Edluar can relax muscles and make you drowsy, increasing the risk of falls and hip fractures.
  • Do not drive, operate machines, or do tasks that need your full attention for at least 8 hours after taking Edluar. Avoid alcohol as it can make the medicine's effects stronger.

  • Do not use Edluar if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine can cause memory loss. To reduce this risk, make sure you can get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep after taking it.
  • Taking Edluar can lead to dependence. Do not use for too long or in higher doses than prescribed.
