How to Use

Dosage

One capsule once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water, 30 minutes after a meal. Do not chew or open it, as the contents can irritate your mouth or throat.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one capsule.

Possible Side Effects

  • Weakness or lack of strength
  • Headache
  • Itchy, blocked, or runny nose (rhinitis)
  • Rash, hives, itching
  • Hair loss (usually from the body) or increased hair growth
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, arms, or legs (angioedema)
  • Fainting
  • Prolonged and painful erection (priapism)
  • Severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), such as blisters and peeling skin around the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals
  • Abnormal or fast heartbeat (arrhythmia, tachycardia, or atrial fibrillation)
  • Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
  • Depression or mood changes
  • Testicular pain and swelling
  • Nosebleeds
  • Severe skin inflammation
  • Vision changes (blurred or decreased vision)
  • Dry mouth

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are a woman, child, or under 18 years old. Women, especially pregnant ones, should not handle leaky capsules as the medicine can be absorbed through the skin and harm a male baby. Wash affected skin immediately with soap and water.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to dutasteride, other 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, tamsulosin, soy, peanuts, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have low blood pressure that causes dizziness or fainting when standing up.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or severe kidney problems, as you may need extra check-ups during treatment.

  • If you are having cataract surgery, tell your eye doctor that you are taking this medicine, as they may need to take special precautions.
  • Use a condom during sex if your partner is pregnant or may become pregnant, as this medicine can be passed through semen and may harm a male baby.
  • This medicine affects PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood test results. Always tell your doctor you are taking this medicine before a PSA test.
  • This medicine can cause breast enlargement or tenderness. If you notice any lumps or nipple discharge, tell your doctor immediately, as these could be signs of a serious condition like breast cancer.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy.
