How to Use

Dosage

Take one capsule once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water, 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Do not chew or open it, as the contents can irritate your mouth or throat.

Important

Do not take more than one capsule per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Impotence (difficulty getting or keeping an erection)
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Ejaculation problems (e.g., reduced amount of semen during sex)

RARE
  • Heart failure (with symptoms like shortness of breath, severe tiredness, swollen ankles and feet)
  • Low blood pressure when standing
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Feeling weak or tired
  • Headache
  • Itchy, blocked, or runny nose
  • Rash
  • Hives
  • Itching
  • Hair loss (usually from the body) or hair growth
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, arms, or legs
  • Fainting
  • Persistent painful erection
  • Severe skin reactions (like widespread blistering and peeling rash)
  • Abnormal or fast heart rhythm
  • Shortness of breath
  • Testicular pain and swelling
  • Nosebleed
  • Vision changes (like blurred or impaired vision)
  • Dry mouth

Important Warnings

  • Women should not take this medicine.
  • This medicine is not for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dutasteride, other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, tamsulosin, soy, peanuts, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have low blood pressure that causes dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver disease.

  • Tell your doctor if you have any liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney problems.
  • If you are having cataract surgery, tell your eye doctor you are taking (or have taken) this medicine.
  • Pregnant women should not handle leaking capsules, as the active substance can be absorbed through the skin and may harm a male fetus. Wash contact area with soap and water immediately.
  • Use a condom during sex if your partner is pregnant or might become pregnant, as this medicine can affect male fetal development.
  • This medicine can cause breast enlargement and tenderness. Tell your doctor about any breast lumps or nipple discharge, as these could be signs of serious conditions like breast cancer.
  • Mood changes and depression have been reported. Contact your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness, which may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy.
  • This medicine affects PSA blood tests, which are used to detect prostate cancer. Always tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine if you have a PSA test.
