How to Use

Dosage

One capsule once a day.

Method

Take the capsule whole with water, 30 minutes after a meal, at the same meal each day. Do not chew or open the capsule.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Difficulty getting or keeping an erection (impotence)
  • Decreased sex drive (libido)
  • Problems with ejaculation, like less semen during sex
  • Enlarged or tender breasts
  • Dizziness
RARE
  • Heart failure (heart cannot pump blood effectively, causing shortness of breath, extreme tiredness, and swollen ankles/legs)
  • Low blood pressure when standing up
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea
  • Feeling weak or tired
  • Headache
  • Itchy, stuffy, or runny nose (rhinitis)
  • Rash, hives, itching
  • Hair loss (usually from the body) or hair growth
  • Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, arms, or legs (angioedema)
  • Fainting
  • Long-lasting and painful erection (priapism)
  • Severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Unusual or fast heartbeat (arrhythmia, tachycardia, or atrial fibrillation)
  • Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
  • Depression
  • Testicular pain and swelling
  • Nosebleeds
  • Vision changes (blurred or decreased vision)
  • Dry mouth

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are a woman, as this medicine is for men only.
  • Do not take if you are a child or under 18 years old.
  • Do not take if you are allergic to dutasteride, other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, tamsulosin, soy, peanuts, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have low blood pressure that causes dizziness or fainting.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.

  • Women, children, and teenagers should not handle leaking capsules, as the medicine can be absorbed through the skin. Wash any contact area immediately with soap and water.
  • Use a condom during sex. The medicine can be found in semen and may harm a baby boy's development if your partner is pregnant or could become pregnant.
  • If you notice breast enlargement, tenderness, lumps, or nipple discharge, tell your doctor, as these could be signs of a serious condition like breast cancer.
  • Make sure your doctor knows about any liver problems you have. You may need extra check-ups during treatment.
  • Make sure your doctor knows if you have severe kidney problems.
  • If you are having eye surgery for cataracts, tell your eye doctor that you are taking this medicine or have taken it before, as precautions may be needed.
  • This medicine can make you dizzy. Do not drive or operate machines if you feel dizzy.
  • Contact a doctor immediately and stop taking this medicine if you have symptoms of a severe allergic reaction like widespread blistering or peeling skin, especially around the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals.
