How to Use

Dosage

Take one capsule (0.5 mg) once a day.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not chew or open the capsule, as the contents can irritate your mouth or throat.

Important

Do not take more than one capsule (0.5 mg) in a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Inability to get or keep an erection (impotence), which may continue even after stopping treatment.
  • Decreased sex drive (libido), which may continue even after stopping treatment.
  • Problems with ejaculation, such as a decrease in the amount of semen released during sex, which may continue even after stopping treatment.
  • Breast enlargement or tenderness (gynecomastia).
  • Dizziness, especially when this medicine is taken with tamsulosin.
RARE
  • Heart failure (when the heart's ability to pump blood is weakened, causing symptoms like shortness of breath, extreme tiredness, and swollen ankles or feet).
  • Hair loss (mostly body hair) or increased hair growth.
  • Skin rash (possibly with itching) or hives (itchy red welts).
  • Swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, arms, or legs.
  • Depression.
  • Testicular pain and swelling.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dutasteride, other similar medicines (5-alpha reductase inhibitors), or any other ingredient in Dutasteride ratiopharm.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have a severe liver disease.
  • Women, children, and teenagers should not handle leaking capsules, as the medicine can be absorbed through the skin. If skin contact occurs, wash the area thoroughly with soap and water immediately.
  • Use a condom during sex. The medicine can pass into semen and may harm a developing male baby if your partner is pregnant or might become pregnant.
  • This medicine can cause breast enlargement and tenderness. If this bothers you, or if you notice a lump in your breast or nipple discharge, talk to your doctor immediately, as these could be signs of breast cancer.

  • Mood changes, depression, and in rare cases, thoughts of harming yourself have been reported. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
