How to Use

Dosage

For milk teeth, up to 0.3 ml; for mixed dentition (milk and permanent teeth), up to 0.4 ml; for permanent teeth, up to 1.0 ml.

Method

Do not brush your teeth or chew food for four hours after treatment; you can drink liquids or eat soft foods that don't require chewing.

Important

The maximum daily dose is controlled by the dental professional during application, so overdosage is highly unlikely.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat, which can cause difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • Irritation, inflammation, and sores in the mouth and gums.
  • Nausea and gagging.
  • Asthma attacks (in sensitive patients).
  • Hypersensitivity (allergic reaction).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to sodium fluoride, colophony, or any other ingredient in Duraphat.
  • Do not use if you have mouth sores, gum inflammation, or a mouth infection (stomatitis).
  • Do not use if you have asthma.
  • Do not apply Duraphat to your entire teeth if your stomach is empty.
  • This medicine contains raspberry essence with allergens (geraniol, citronellol, citral, benzyl benzoate, linalool, benzyl alcohol) which may cause allergic reactions.

  • Do not use other strong fluoride products (like fluoride gels) on the same day as Duraphat. Stop using other fluoride products for a few days after Duraphat treatment.
  • This medicine contains alcohol, so avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
