How to Use

Dosage

Start with 15-45 ml daily, then continue with a maintenance dose of 15-30 ml. Dosage can vary for children; consult a doctor.

Method

Take doses at the same time each day, swallow quickly, and do not hold in your mouth. You can take the solution undiluted or mixed with a liquid.

Important

The maximum recommended daily starting dose for adults and adolescents is 45 ml.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lactulose or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have galactosemia (a serious genetic disorder where your body cannot break down galactose).
  • Do not use if you have a bowel blockage (not caused by regular constipation) or if your bowel is perforated or at risk of perforation (e.g., from Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
  • Do not use this medicine for more than two weeks without a doctor's advice.
  • Drink plenty of fluids (about 2 liters per day) when using laxatives.
