How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose for depression and anxiety is 60 mg once a day, but your doctor will tell you the right dose, which can be adjusted up to 120 mg per day.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water. You can also carefully open the capsule and mix the contents with applesauce, then eat it right away without chewing.

Important

Do not take more Duloxetine Liconsa per day than your doctor has prescribed.

  • Bright red blood in stools, bad breath, colon inflammation (causing diarrhea)
  • Liver failure, yellow skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome (severe skin condition with blisters on skin, mouth, eyes, genitals)
  • Severe allergic reaction causing swelling of face or throat (angioedema)
  • Jaw muscle spasm
  • Abnormal urine smell
  • Menopause symptoms
  • Abnormal breast milk production in men or women
  • Heavy vaginal bleeding after childbirth
  • Cough, wheezing, and shortness of breath (especially with high fever)
  • Inflammation of blood vessels in skin (cutaneous vasculitis)
  • Stress cardiomyopathy (chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to duloxetine or any of its other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have liver disease or severe kidney disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are currently taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days.
  • Avoid taking this medicine if you are already using other medicines that contain duloxetine, or if you are taking fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin, or enoxacin (used for infections).
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or feel your depression or anxiety is getting worse, contact your doctor immediately or go to a hospital.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have high blood pressure or heart disease.
  • Seek medical help if you notice symptoms like feeling very agitated, seeing things that are not there, a fast heart rate, high fever, or very stiff muscles, as these could be signs of a serious condition called serotonin syndrome.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
