How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one 40 mg capsule twice a day, once in the morning and once in the late afternoon or evening. Your doctor may start you on 20 mg twice daily for two weeks before increasing the dose.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with water. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than your doctor prescribed for you.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to duloxetine or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have liver or severe kidney disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are currently taking or have taken MAO inhibitor medicines in the last 14 days.
  • Avoid taking this medicine with fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin, or enoxacin (used for depression or infections).
  • This medicine is not for children or adolescents under 18 years old.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have high blood pressure or heart disease.
  • Do not take other medicines that also contain duloxetine.
  • If you feel restless or find it hard to sit still, tell your doctor.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy or dizzy. Do not drive or use machines until you know how it affects you.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine or change your dose without first talking to your doctor.
