Dotarem is a contrast agent used in adults and children to enhance contrast in MRI scans.
Your doctor or radiologist will determine the dose; typically, one dose is given per scan, and the dose does not need to be adjusted for those over 65 unless kidney function is impaired.
Dotarem is given as an injection into a vein just before your MRI scan.
Only one dose is given per scan, and there should be at least a 7-day break before the next injection.
