This medicine, Dostinex, stops or reduces breast milk production by lowering a hormone called prolactin in your body, and it can also lower high levels of prolactin in your blood.
For stopping breast milk, the usual dose is two 0.5 mg tablets within 24 hours. For high prolactin levels, the starting dose is one 0.5 mg tablet per week. Your doctor may change this dose based on your needs.
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Take the tablets with food and a drink to help reduce side effects like nausea or stomach pain.
