How to Use

Dosage

The recommended daily dose is one or two Dormix 12.5 mg tablets or one Dormix 25 mg tablet.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth with enough liquid (preferably water) 30 minutes before going to bed. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than two Dormix 12.5 mg tablets (25 mg total) or one Dormix 25 mg tablet per day.

  • Blood disorders (e.g., hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis)
  • General feeling of being unwell

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Dormix if you are allergic to doxylamine, other antihistamines, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take Dormix if you are breastfeeding.
  • Do not take Dormix if you have a lung disease such as asthma, chronic bronchitis with phlegm, or emphysema.
  • Do not take Dormix if you have glaucoma (high eye pressure).
  • Do not take Dormix if you have an enlarged prostate, bladder neck obstruction, or difficulty urinating.

  • Do not take Dormix if you have stomach or intestinal ulcers, or a blockage between your stomach and small intestine.
  • Do not take Dormix if you are using monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), certain antidepressants, antibiotics, heart medicines for irregular heartbeat, antivirals, antifungals, certain cholesterol-lowering medicines, or quinidine.
  • Do not take Dormix if you have severe kidney or liver disease.
  • Do not drink alcohol while using Dormix.
  • Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while using doxylamine.
  • Do not use Dormix for more than seven days unless your doctor says otherwise.
  • Dormix is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.
  • Dormix can increase dehydration and heatstroke risk because it reduces sweating, especially in hot weather.
  • Dormix can make you sleepy and affect your ability to drive or use machines. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery during treatment, especially during the first few days, until you know how Dormix affects you.
  • If you are over 65, you may experience side effects more easily. Pay attention to the effects of the treatment.

Category D
