How to Use

Dosage

Usually, take the lowest dose that relieves your pain. For adults and adolescents over 12 years, the recommended dose is one 100 mg, 150 mg, or 200 mg prolonged-release tablet twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with enough liquid, preferably in the morning and evening. Do not break, chew, or crush the tablets. You can take them with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than 400 mg of tramadol hydrochloride per day, unless your doctor has prescribed it.

  • Changes in appetite or unusual skin sensations (tingling, numbness)
  • Muscle twitching, weakness, or involuntary movements
  • Fainting or speech problems
  • Blurred vision or changes in pupil size
  • Difficulty or pain when urinating, less urine
  • Hallucinations, confusion, anxiety, sleep problems, or nightmares
  • Dizziness with balance problems (vertigo)
  • Redness of face or skin (flushing)
  • Increased liver enzyme levels
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  • Low blood sodium (hyponatremia), causing tiredness, confusion, muscle twitching, seizures, or coma
  • Worsening of asthma
  • Hiccups
  • Serotonin syndrome (mood changes, fever, fast heart rate, muscle twitching, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Dolatramyl if you are allergic to tramadol or any other ingredients of the medicine; symptoms can include rash, itching, or difficulty breathing.
  • Do not take Dolatramyl if you have consumed a lot of alcohol, sleeping pills, other pain medications (opioids), or medicines affecting mood.
  • Do not use Dolatramyl if you have used MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression or Parkinson's disease) within the last 14 days.
  • Do not use Dolatramyl if you have epilepsy that is not well controlled by medication.
  • Do not use Dolatramyl to treat opioid withdrawal symptoms.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have high pressure in your brain (e.g., after a head injury) or feel faint.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have breathing difficulties, are in shock, or have sleep-related breathing problems (sleep apnea).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a risk of seizures or epilepsy, as the medicine can increase seizure risk.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have depression and are taking antidepressants that may interact with tramadol.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms of serotonin syndrome (e.g., fever, fast heart rate, confusion, muscle twitching).
  • Do not drink alcohol during treatment, as it may increase the effect of the medicine.
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel affected.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without your doctor's advice. Long-term use during pregnancy can cause withdrawal symptoms in the newborn.
  • If your pain worsens after taking Dolatramyl, do not take more without talking to your doctor.
  • Contact your doctor if you have symptoms like extreme tiredness, loss of appetite, severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or low blood pressure, as these can be signs of adrenal insufficiency.
