How to Use

Dosage

Take one Diza tablet every day.

Method

You can take the tablet with or without food, with a small amount of water if needed. Tablets should be taken at approximately the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) a blood clot in your leg, lung, or any other organ.
  • Do not use Diza if you have a known blood clotting disorder (e.g., protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, antithrombin-III deficiency, Factor V Leiden, or antiphospholipid antibodies).
  • Do not use Diza if you need surgery or will be bedridden for a long time.
  • Do not use Diza if you have had a heart attack or stroke.
  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) angina pectoris (severe chest pain, a first sign of a heart attack) or mini-stroke symptoms (TIA).

  • Do not use Diza if you have conditions that increase your risk of arterial blood clots, such as severe diabetes with damaged blood vessels, very high blood pressure, very high blood fat levels (cholesterol or triglycerides), or a condition where there is too much of a certain substance in the blood (hyperhomocysteinemia).
  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) migraine with aura.
  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) liver disease and your liver function has not returned to normal.
  • Do not use Diza if you have impaired kidney function (kidney failure).
  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) a liver tumor.
  • Do not use Diza if you have (or have had) or suspect breast cancer or cancer of the genital organs.
  • Do not use Diza if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use Diza if you are allergic to ethinylestradiol, drospirenone, or any other ingredient in this medicine (symptoms may include itching, rash, or swelling).
  • Do not use Diza if you have hepatitis C and are taking medicines containing ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir, dasabuvir, glecaprevir/pibrentasvir, or sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir.
  • Diza does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted infections, just like other birth control pills.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a possible blood clot (e.g., swelling or pain in your leg, chest pain, sudden difficulty breathing, heart attack, or stroke).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience symptoms of angioedema such as swelling of the face, tongue, and/or throat, and/or difficulty swallowing, or hives with breathing difficulties.
