Ditustin is a medicine that contains levodropropizine and is used to help with dry coughs for adults, teenagers, and children aged 2 years and older.

How to Use

Dosage

Adults and teenagers over 12 years old should take 10 ml up to 3 times a day. Children aged 2–12 years should take 0.5 ml per kilogram of their body weight, divided into 3 doses throughout the day.

Method

Take the medicine by mouth, usually between meals. Use the special measuring cup that comes in the package to get the right amount.

Important

Adults and teenagers over 12 years old should not take more than 30 ml in one day. Children under 12 years old should not take more than 1 ml per kilogram of their body weight in one day.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Feeling dizzy or shaky, weakness, tiredness, sleepiness, confusion, headache.
  • Feeling your heart beat fast (palpitations), a fast pulse, or low blood pressure.
  • Trouble breathing, cough, or swollen airways.
  • Stomach problems like feeling sick (nausea), throwing up (vomiting), or diarrhea.
  • Skin issues like hives, redness, rash, itching, or swelling of the skin.
  • Feeling unwell in general, or weakness in your legs.
  • Allergic reactions or being extra sensitive to the medicine.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to levodropropizine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a wet cough that brings up phlegm or mucus.
  • Do not use if you have a certain lung condition that makes it hard to cough up mucus, like Kartagener's syndrome.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not give this medicine to children younger than 2 years old.

  • This medicine can make you react slower. Be careful when driving or using machines.
