How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose for adults is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take one tablet every day, preferably at the same time, with enough liquid. After finishing one pack, start a new one immediately. Continue taking the tablets even during your period.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Weight gain
  • Mood changes (sadness, sleep problems, nervousness, decreased sex drive)
  • Headache or migraine
  • Stomach problems (nausea, pain, gas, bloating, vomiting)
  • Acne or hair loss
  • Back pain
  • Breast tenderness, ovarian cysts, or hot flashes
  • Bleeding from the uterus/vagina, including spotting
  • Weakness or irritability
RARE
  • Anemia, weight loss, or increased appetite
  • Anxiety, depression, or mood swings, difficulty concentrating
  • Dry eyes, ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Circulatory problems (e.g., unusual heart palpitations, low blood pressure)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Digestive issues (diarrhea, constipation, stomach problems, inflammation of the stomach/intestines, gum inflammation)
  • Skin and hair problems (dry skin, heavy sweating, severe itching, excessive body hair, brittle nails, dandruff, rash, skin inflammation, abnormal hair growth, sensitivity to light, or skin pigmentation problems)
  • Pain in bones, muscles, arms, hands, legs, or feet
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Vaginal infections (yeast infection, dryness, discharge), pelvic pain, inflammation of genital area, or breast lumps
  • Swelling due to fluid retention
  • For young people (12-18 years): decreased bone density

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Dienogest Besins if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not use if you have a blood clot in your veins (e.g., in legs or lungs) or if you have or have had a serious artery disease, such as a heart attack, stroke, or severe chest pain.
  • Do not use if you have diabetes with blood vessel damage.
  • Do not use if you have or have had severe liver disease (causing yellow skin or itching) or a liver tumor.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected of having a hormone-dependent cancer, like breast or genital cancer.

  • Do not use if you have unexplained bleeding from the vagina.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to dienogest or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use hormonal birth control (pills, patches, or IUDs) while taking this medicine.
  • This medicine is not birth control. Use condoms or other non-hormonal methods to prevent pregnancy.
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek urgent medical help if you experience signs of a blood clot, such as severe pain or swelling in one leg, sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, a sudden unexplained cough, a very bad or long-lasting headache, vision problems, trouble speaking, dizziness, fainting, or weakness/numbness in any part of your body.
