How to Use

Dosage

For inflammation, the usual dose is 1-4 mg daily for the first week, then 1-2 mg daily.

Method

Take the tablets as directed by your doctor. The tablet can be divided into two equal doses.

Important

Always follow your doctor's prescribed dose and do not exceed it. During the first week, a maximum of 4 mg daily.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Reduced resistance to infections
  • Facial swelling and redness (Cushing's syndrome)
  • Slowed growth in children
  • Acne and increased body hair (in women)
  • Muscle weakness
  • Brittle bones (osteoporosis)
  • Increased blood sugar, worsening of diabetes or new onset of diabetes
  • Low nitrogen levels in blood
RARE
  • Allergic reactions, such as swelling, rash, or eczema
  • Body swelling due to salt imbalance (e.g., too much sodium or too little potassium/calcium)
  • Increased appetite and weight gain
  • High blood pressure, blood clots, or heart failure
  • Digestive problems, such as nausea, stomach ulcers, or pancreatitis
  • Thin and fragile skin (bruising easily), slow wound healing
  • Mood changes and sleep problems
  • Eye problems, such as glaucoma, bulging eyes, or cataracts
  • Tendon ruptures
  • Increased pressure inside the skull
  • Bone tissue breakdown or fractures
  • Irregular or absent menstrual periods
  • Seizures
  • Headache, dizziness, and general discomfort
  • Muscle disease in arms and legs
  • Blood vessel blockage

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to dexamethasone or any other ingredient in this medicine, or if you have a fungal infection that affects your whole body.
  • Be especially careful if you have diabetes, tuberculosis, bone loss (osteoporosis), mental health problems, stomach or duodenal ulcers, high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney problems, eye diseases, or infections.
  • Tell your doctor or vaccinator if you are using this medicine before vaccination, or if you have a fever or feel stressed, as your dose might need to be adjusted.
  • This medicine can affect children's growth. It should not be given if you have a head injury or stroke. Treatment must be stopped gradually under medical guidance.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor. This medicine contains lactose; talk to your doctor if you have a sugar intolerance.
