How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take, as the dose is specific to your needs and condition.

Method

Place the tablet under your tongue; it will dissolve without water.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to desmopressin or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you drink too much fluid (polydipsia), have heart failure, or other conditions requiring water pills.
  • Do not take if you have moderate or severe kidney problems.
  • Do not take if you have low sodium levels in your blood.
  • Do not take if you cannot limit your fluid intake as instructed by your doctor.

  • Do not take if you are 65 or older and have frequent nighttime urination.
  • Do not give to children under 5 years old for bedwetting.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or thyroid/adrenal gland issues.
  • If you experience headache, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, confusion, or seizures, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor immediately, as these can be signs of low sodium in your blood.
  • When treating bedwetting or frequent nighttime urination, strictly limit fluid intake for 1 hour before and 8 hours after taking the medicine, only drinking enough to quench thirst.
  • Children taking this medicine must be supervised by an adult.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Risk of fluid retention and hyponatraemia. Treatment of ADH deficiency can be started under specialist supervision. (updated 6.11.2023)
