Desmopressin Orifarm mimics a natural hormone to help your kidneys control the amount of urine your body makes, often used for conditions like bedwetting or frequent night-time urination.
Your doctor will tell you your exact dose. For central diabetes insipidus, adults and children usually take 60-120 micrograms under the tongue three times a day. For children aged 5 and older with bedwetting, it's typically 120-240 micrograms under the tongue at night. For adults with frequent night-time urination (nocturia), the starting dose is 60 micrograms under the tongue at night, which can be increased up to 240 micrograms.
Place the tablet under your tongue. It will dissolve there without water. Do not take it with food, as this might make the medicine less effective.
Do not take more than 240 micrograms as a single dose. For bedwetting and frequent night-time urination, limit your fluid intake as instructed by your doctor, especially 1 hour before and 8 hours after taking the medicine.
