How to Use

Dosage

Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: two tablets once daily. Children 6-11 years: one tablet once daily. Can be taken with or without food.

Method

This medicine is for oral use. Carefully open the blister and take out the tablet without crushing it. Place the tablet on your tongue; it dissolves in seconds, and you can swallow it without water. Take the tablet immediately after removing it from the blister.

Important

  • Yellow skin and/or eyes (jaundice)
  • Increased skin sensitivity to sun
  • Changes in how the heart beats
  • Abnormal behavior

  • Weight gain

  • Dry eyes
  • Slow heartbeat (in children)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Deslox if you are allergic to desloratadine, any other ingredient in this medicine, or similar medicines like loratadine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have kidney problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you or your family have had seizures (fits).
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years old.
  • Do not take Deslox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Be careful when taking Deslox with alcohol.
  • If you have phenylketonuria (PKU), the aspartame in this medicine can be harmful.
  • See a doctor if your symptoms don't get better within 5 days or if they get worse.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Concurrent use with clopidogrel can increase loratadine and desloratadine level. (updated 19.9.2025)
