This medicine is a patch that helps your heart by widening blood vessels, reducing its workload, and preventing chest pain.
You usually start with one 5 mg/24 hour patch. Your doctor might change it to two 5 mg/24 hour patches or one 10 mg/24 hour patch daily if needed.
Stick the patch on a clean, dry, hairless, and healthy skin area like your chest, upper arm, thigh, stomach, or shoulder. Change the spot every day to avoid irritation; you can reuse a spot after 2-3 days. Do not put it on broken skin or right after a shower/bath until your skin is cool and dry.
The most you should use in a day is one 10 mg/24 hour patch or two 5 mg/24 hour patches. You should also have an 8-12 hour break each day where you don't wear a patch.
Suitable for older adults. Consider reduced blood pressure and the risk of fainting due to orthostatic hypotonia. (updated 19.5.2025)
