How to Use

Dosage

Apply a thin layer of cream gently to the affected skin area once a day.

Method

This medicine is for external use on the skin only. Do not apply to eyelids or eyes. Do not use under a bandage unless your doctor says so.

Important

Do not use the cream more than once a day. Do not apply to large skin areas or for long periods without consulting your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Tingling or stinging sensation
RARE
  • Cushing's syndrome (rapid weight gain especially in the torso and face, general weakness), especially in children.
  • Formation of small bumps and pimples.
  • Skin thinning (atrophy), fragile blood vessels, skin inflammation, skin marks or streaks (including stretch marks), and rosacea-like redness on the face, with prolonged or intense use.
  • Effects on the adrenal glands when large areas of skin are treated; this disappears when treatment stops.
  • Excessive hair growth (hypertrichosis).
  • Allergic reactions, including increased redness, itching, stinging, and skin irritation.
  • Inflammation of hair follicles.
  • Burning sensation.
  • Itching.
  • Skin infection or pustules/blisters.
  • Tingling or numbness in the hands or feet (paresthesia).
  • Pain or irritation at the application site.
  • Visible small blood vessels under the skin, skin inflammation (including acne-like reactions), red, itchy, flaky rash around the mouth, skin discoloration (purple or dark blue), increased sensitivity, dryness, skin maceration (softening and lightening of skin), prickly heat (very itchy rash).
  • Blurred vision.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Demoson if you are allergic to mometasone furoate, other corticosteroids, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use Demoson on infected skin unless the infection is being treated at the same time.
  • Do not use Demoson on certain skin conditions, such as rosacea, acne, skin thinning, dermatitis around the mouth, itching in the genital or anal area, diaper rash, bacterial or viral infections (like cold sores, shingles, chickenpox), warts, parasitic infections, fungal infections (like athlete's foot), or open wounds.
  • Avoid getting the cream in your eyes or on eyelids, as it can rarely cause eye problems like cataracts or glaucoma.
  • If your doctor recommends using Demoson on your face, do not use it for more than 5 days.

  • Demoson is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. For children over 2, use only as directed by a doctor, on small areas (up to 10% of body surface), and for no more than 5 days. Do not use under a diaper.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • Demoson contains propylene glycol, which can irritate the skin, and butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), which can cause local skin reactions (e.g., contact dermatitis) or irritate eyes and mucous membranes.
