Deferasirox Glenmark is a medicine that removes excess iron from your body by binding it and helping it pass out mainly in stool.
The typical starting dose is 14 mg per kg of body weight daily for patients receiving regular blood transfusions, and 7 mg per kg daily for those not receiving regular transfusions. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response.
Take Deferasirox Glenmark once a day, around the same time each day, with a small amount of water. You can take it on an empty stomach or with a light meal. If you cannot swallow the tablets whole, you can crush them and sprinkle the entire dose on soft food like yogurt or applesauce. Eat the food immediately and completely.
The maximum daily dose is 28 mg per kg of body weight for patients receiving regular blood transfusions, 14 mg per kg for adults not receiving regular transfusions, and 7 mg per kg for children and adolescents not receiving regular transfusions.
