How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact dose. Adults usually take 100 mg or 140 mg once a day. For children, the dose depends on their weight.

Method

Take the tablets whole, with or without food, at the same time each day. Do not crush, split, or chew them.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum daily dose. It may be adjusted based on how the medicine works for you, but initial adult doses typically do not exceed 140 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Infections caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi; lung infection, herpes infection, cold-like symptoms, or serious infections in blood or body tissues.
  • Trouble breathing, fast or uneven heartbeat, heart not pumping well, weak heart muscle, high blood pressure, high blood pressure in the lungs, cough.
  • Diarrhea, upset stomach (nausea, vomiting), changes in how much you want to eat, changes in taste, bloated stomach, inflammation of the large intestine, constipation, heartburn, mouth sores, weight changes, stomach inflammation.
  • Skin rash, fever, swelling (in face, hands, feet, or all over), headache, feeling tired or weak, bleeding, tingling skin, itching, dry skin, acne, skin inflammation, ringing in ears, hair loss, sweating a lot, vision problems (blurry, poor eyesight), dry eyes, bruises, feeling down, trouble sleeping, flushing, dizziness, not wanting to eat, feeling sleepy.
  • Muscle pain (during or after treatment), stomach pain, joint pain, weak muscles, chest pain, pain in hands and feet, chills, stiff muscles and joints, muscle cramps.
  • Low number of platelets, low number of white blood cells (neutropenia), low red blood cell count (anemia), fluid around lungs, fluid around heart, uneven heart rhythm, fever with low white blood cells, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, high uric acid in blood.
RARE
  • Heart attack (can be fatal), inflammation of the sac around the heart, irregular heartbeat, chest pain when heart doesn't get enough oxygen, low blood pressure, narrow airways (making it hard to breathe), asthma, high blood pressure in lung blood vessels, enlarged upper heart chamber, heart muscle inflammation, sudden severe heart problems (blocked blood flow), heart stops beating, heart artery disease, inflammation of heart and lung lining, blood clots in blood vessels or lungs.
  • Pancreas inflammation, stomach ulcer, esophagus inflammation, swollen stomach, tear in the skin around the anus, trouble swallowing, gallbladder inflammation, blocked bile ducts, acid reflux (stomach acid coming up), poor absorption of important nutrients (like protein) from the gut, blocked intestines, abnormal opening from anus to skin (anal fistula), kidney problems, diabetes.
  • Allergic reaction (including tender, red skin lumps), anxiety, confusion, mood swings, lower sex drive, fainting, shaking, red or painful eye inflammation, skin disease with tender red patches, sudden fever and increased white blood cells, hearing loss, sensitive to light, poor vision, increased tears, changes in skin color, inflammation of fat under skin, skin ulcer, blisters on skin, nail problems, hair problems, hand-foot syndrome, kidney failure, frequent urination, breast enlargement in men, menstrual problems, general weakness and discomfort, underactive thyroid, losing balance when walking, bone death (from poor blood supply), arthritis, skin swelling, seizures, inflammation of the optic nerve (can cause blindness), blue-violet skin spots, overactive thyroid, thyroid inflammation, ataxia (problems with muscle coordination), trouble walking, miscarriage, inflammation of skin blood vessels, thickening of skin tissue.
  • Vein inflammation (can cause redness, tenderness, and swelling), tendon inflammation.
  • Memory loss, stroke, temporary nerve problems due to reduced blood flow, facial paralysis, dementia.
  • Abnormal blood tests and possible worsening kidney function due to broken down tumor cells, low albumin in blood, low lymphocyte count, high cholesterol in blood, swollen lymph nodes, bleeding in the brain, uneven electrical activity of the heart, enlarged heart muscle, liver inflammation, protein in urine, high levels of enzymes (creatine kinase, troponin, gamma-glutamyl transferase) found in heart, brain, muscles, or liver, milky fluid around lungs (chylothorax). Severe allergic reaction, delayed growth of bones, slower or delayed overall growth.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to dasatinib or any of its ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines that thin your blood.
  • Inform your doctor if you have or have had liver or heart disease.
  • Contact your doctor right away if you have trouble breathing, chest pain, or a cough. These could be signs of fluid in your lungs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had Hepatitis B. This medicine can make it active again.

  • Contact your doctor if you experience bruising, bleeding, fever, tiredness, or confusion.
  • Do not take antacids (medicines that reduce stomach acid) 2 hours before or 2 hours after your Dasatinib Stada dose.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine.
  • If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, tell your doctor right away. Use effective contraception during treatment.
  • Do not breastfeed while taking this medicine.
  • Be careful when driving or using machines if you feel dizzy or your vision is blurry.
