How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the usual dose is 100 mg or 140 mg once a day, depending on the condition. For children, the dose depends on their body weight and will be determined by a doctor.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or without food. Do not crush, divide, or chew them.

Important

The doctor will determine the maximum daily dose depending on your condition and response, generally up to 140 mg for adults.

COMMON
  • Infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting
  • Rash, fever, swelling of face, hands, and feet, headache, feeling tired or weak, bleeding
  • Muscle pain, stomach pain
  • Low blood cell counts (platelets, white blood cells, red blood cells), fluid around lungs
  • Pneumonia, herpes infection, upper respiratory infections, severe blood infections
  • Palpitations, irregular heartbeats, heart failure, high blood pressure, cough
  • Changes in appetite, taste changes, bloating, constipation, heartburn, mouth sores, weight changes
  • Skin tingling, itching, dry skin, acne, hair loss, sweating, blurred vision, dry eyes, bruising, depression, insomnia, dizziness, general swelling
  • Joint pain, muscle weakness, chest pain, chills, muscle stiffness, muscle cramps
  • Fluid around heart, abnormal heart rhythm, gastrointestinal bleeding, high uric acid levels
RARE
  • Heart attack, inflammation around heart, chest pain, low blood pressure, asthma, high blood pressure in lung arteries
  • Pancreatitis, stomach ulcer, acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, gallbladder issues
  • Allergic reaction, anxiety, confusion, mood changes, fainting, tremors, eye inflammation, hearing loss, vision changes, kidney problems, frequent urination, breast enlargement in men, low thyroid function, bone death, arthritis, skin swelling
  • Vein inflammation, tendon inflammation
  • Memory loss
  • Abnormal blood tests, kidney problems (tumor lysis syndrome), low protein/lymphocyte count, high cholesterol, swollen lymph nodes, bleeding in brain, enlarged heart, liver inflammation, protein in urine, milky fluid around lungs
  • Enlarged heart chamber, heart muscle inflammation, cardiac arrest, blood clots, pulmonary embolism
  • Nutrient loss, bowel obstruction, anal fistula, worsening kidney function, diabetes
  • Seizures, optic nerve inflammation (vision loss), bluish skin, hyperthyroidism, thyroid inflammation, coordination problems, difficulty walking, miscarriage, skin fibrosis
  • Stroke, facial paralysis, dementia
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Delayed bone formation, growth delay

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to dasatinib or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking blood-thinning medicines.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or heart disease.
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you have breathing difficulties, chest pain, or cough, as this could be a sign of fluid in your lungs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had Hepatitis B infection, as the medicine can reactivate it.

  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not take antacids (heartburn medicines) 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking this medicine.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice during treatment.
