How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the typical starting dose is 100 mg or 140 mg once daily, depending on the type of leukemia. For children, the dose is based on body weight as prescribed by the doctor.

Method

Take the tablets whole once daily at the same time, with or without food; do not crush, split, or chew them.

Your doctor will determine the right maximum dose for you, but the typical recommended starting dose for adults is up to 140 mg per day.

COMMON
  • Infections (bacterial, viral, and fungal)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Digestive problems (e.g., diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, changes in appetite)
  • Skin issues and swelling (e.g., rash, fever, swelling of face, hands, and feet, dry skin, acne, itching)
  • Headache, feeling tired or weak, dizziness, bleeding or bruising
  • Muscle and joint pain (e.g., muscle pain, joint pain, stiffness, cramps)
  • Changes in blood tests (e.g., low platelets/white blood cells, anemia, fluid around lungs or heart)
RARE
  • Serious heart and lung problems (e.g., heart attack, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure in lung arteries, severe lung infection like pneumonia)
  • Severe stomach and digestive tract problems (e.g., inflammation of the pancreas, stomach ulcer, intestinal blockage, problems with bile, diabetes)
  • Skin, hair, and eye symptoms (e.g., severe allergic reactions, blistering skin, hearing/vision loss, changes in skin color, nail problems, increased hair loss)
  • Nervous system symptoms (e.g., seizures, memory loss, stroke, facial paralysis, dementia, problems with balance or walking)
  • Blood clots or inflammation of blood vessels
  • Other general symptoms (e.g., depression, insomnia, underactive or overactive thyroid, bone death, miscarriage)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to dasatinib or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you take medicines that thin the blood.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had liver or heart problems.
  • Get medical help right away if you have trouble breathing, chest pain, or a cough.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had Hepatitis B, as this medicine can make it active again.

  • Tell your doctor if you get bruises, bleeding, fever, or confusion during treatment.
  • Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice during treatment.
  • Do not take antacids (medicines that reduce stomach acid) within 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking Dasatinib Krka.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to get pregnant; this medicine is usually not used during pregnancy, and you should stop breastfeeding while taking it.
  • Be careful when driving or using machines if you feel dizzy or have blurred vision.
  • Avoid certain medicines like some antifungals, antibiotics, antivirals, epilepsy medicines, tuberculosis medicines, stomach acid reducers, and St. John's Wort – always ask your doctor.
